indubitably luxurious; but I'll stick with the bargain brand : Charmin Ultra Soft, Mega Rolls, 6 Count Packs (Pack of 3) 18 Total Rolls
My rating for this product is based on the value of the product for the price paid, rather than strictly the quality of the item. This is undoubtedly the softest toilet paper I have used, and the rolls are really HUGE (though they do live up to the promise of fitting on the dispenser), but still you only get 143 (double) sheets per each $1.25 roll verses the 1000 (single) sheets I get on the $.98 rolls I buy. I think it is a definite plus not having to change the rolls so often, so it is good that they crammed as much as they could on the roll, but, in the end, most of it is just air. This stuff is softer than most facial tissues, and could easily be used in place of them, but I prefer to keep the TP on the roller and have boxes of nice puffy tissues for non-toilet use. My TP is not facial quality, but it is better than the kind they use in public restrooms, and it is serves the purpose quite nicely while saving me a bundle of money over time.
The advertising says "put it to the test and use 4X less". I presume that this means that you would use 1/4 as much Charmin as you would the other brand, or, stated otherwise, you would need to use four times as much "cheap" tissue compared to the Charmin. This is an exaggerated marketing ploy and says nothing about savings. For instance, my 98 cent roll has more than six times as many sheets as the $1.25 roll of Charmin, so I COULD use four times as much of my brand and still be saving a lot. However, I did "put it to the test", comparing how long a piece of tissue I used from Charmin verses my bargain brand. I found that I did need to use a little less Charmin than the bargain one-ply tissue, about 1/4 less, so maybe this is where the "Four" comes in.
Bottom line is: if you want to get the softest, whitest puffiest toilet paper, get this brand. But if you don't want to flush so much paper or money down the toilet, get the other brand.
